First Thursday Gallery Walk
First Thursday of Every Month, 5-8pmAll the downtown art galleries simultaneously launch their monthly exhibits with extended hours on the first Thursday evenings of every month from 5 to 8pm. Muncie Gras
Saturday, March 20, 2010Downtown Muncie’s party of the year, and the largest fundraising event for Downtown Development. Huge heated tents feature live and interactive entertainment, music, dancing and more, so that the cold weather is not an obstacle!

St. Patty’s Day Parade

The St. Patty’s Day parade downtown has been a Muncie family tradition for nearly 30 years. Parade route begins at Muncie Central Field house parking lot, proceeds south on Walnut Street to Charles Street, and returns via Mulberry Street.Avg. attendance: 500Click here for parade application


BSU Orientation Tours
June 8 through July 16, 11am-1pmDowntown Development, in partnership with Ball State University, welcomes the parents of BSU incoming freshmen to take a guided tour of Downtown Muncie as part of orientation activities each summer.Avg. attendance: 3,500

Free Friday Night Movies
Every Friday eve. in June, July and AugustBring your family and your lawn chairs to downtown Muncie this summer, for the 9th season of Free Friday Night Movies Downtown! Newly released films will be shown every Friday evening in June, July, and August in the 400 block of South Walnut Street at dusk.

Every Friday in June, July and AugustKick off your weekend with Freaky Tiki Friday, every Friday evening in June July and August, from 7 to 11 p.m. Enjoy free live music, good food, friends and fun! You must be 21 or older to enter the gated area, as drinks will be served.
