First Thursday Art Walk in Downtown Muncie

Celebrate the arts in Downtown Muncie! Meet your friends downtown for the monthly art walk this Thursday, September 1, from 5 to 8 pm in the historic Downtown Muncie arts and cultural district.

The Bargain Box joins the long list of downtown venues offering special events during First Thursday this month. They will be open every First Thursday event from 5:30 to 7:30pm to provide additional evening shopping hours. Click here for more info…

First Thursday gallery walk is a monthly event celebrating local arts and culture in Muncie’s historic downtown district. All the downtown art galleries simultaneously launch their monthly exhibits with extended hours on the first Thursday evenings of every month. Stroll the streets, meet the artists, enjoy live music and find free refreshments at nearly every stop.

Blue Bottle will exhibit the works of Michael DuQuette in the coffee shop and Restaurant 2(oh!)4. First Thursday is Redtail Day at Blue Bottle Coffee Shop. Stop in anytime during the day, or during First Thursday in the evening, and help support Redtail Conservancy. Blue Bottle also exhibits local and regional artwork each month.

Cassella’s Kitchen will kick of their 4th annual food drive during First Thursday art walk, in celebration of September as National Food Drive Month. Get a $1 off your purchase for every food item that you bring in. (Must purchase double the amount that is redeemed.) Food will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Downtown Muncie is part of a citywide arts and cultural district, first recognized in 2009 by the City of Muncie. Anyone interested in supporting the arts in Muncie is welcome to bring their lunch to the monthly meetings of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council on the fourth Friday of every month, from 11:30-1pm at Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
