Cardinal Greenway Run Series Begins Saturday

The 4th Annual Cardinal Greenway Run Series will open with a 5K run and a non-competitive 5K mile walk on Saturday, April 24. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. and the competitive race starts at 8:00 a.m.

The course will start and finish at the Wysor Street Depot and highlight our two urban trails, the Cardinal Greenway and the White River Greenway, Minnetrista Cultural Center and historic areas of downtown Muncie. Timers will be at each mile. No Pets Please!

Awards will be given for the 5K competitive run for 1st place male female, 2nd place male female, 3rd place male female. Awards will also be given in 12 additional age divisions for both male female.

The 2010 Run Series will include two other events, a 10K Run on June 19, and a 15K Run on September 25.

The 10K race will start and finish at the Wysor Street Depot and will follow the Cardinal Greenway and the newly constructed portions of the White River Greenway through McCulloch Park.

The Red-Tail 15K race will start and finish at the Red-Tail Conservancy near the Prairie Creek Reservoir and will highlight the Cardinal Greenway through rural Delaware and Henry counties.

The race entry fees are $10 per event or $25.00 for the three race series. A $5.00 late fee will apply to registrations submitted after entry deadlines. Forms may be downloaded or picked up at the Wysor Street, Depot, the downtown YMCA, Kirk’s Bike Shop or the Muncie Visitor’s Bureau.
